ASSAMICA TORRÉFIÉ
"A gourmet and original roasted black tea"
The lightly worked but very dark leaves show a strong roasting. On the nose, the infused leaves produce well-present toasted notes. The liquor is quite dark and of a rather fluid texture. A slightly astringent flavor opens on notes that are naturally toasted and woody but from which the vegetal is not completely absent. In the second infusion, fruity notes appear. The length in the mouth is remarkable and continues the pleasure of tasting. In the end, we will appreciate this tea with its well-structured and gourmet notes, alone or, why not, as an accompaniment to goat cheese on toast.
This tea comes from the village of Doi Mae Salong, in the mountains of northern Thailand, on the Burmese border. Former poppy production areas, these lands are now dedicated to the production of high quality tea. Although the plantation with which we work does not have European organic certification, we are reassured by the tests we carry out and the confidence in the farmer when he promises us that these teas are produced in a natural way without pesticide treatment.
