Jingdezhen, in the province of Jianxi, has been the cradle of high-quality porcelain production for centuries.
A gaiwan, or Zhong 盅, is a teapot without a handle composed of 2 or 3 pieces, a cup, a lid, and often but not always a bowl to rest the cup. It is possible to infuse all kinds of tea in a gaiwan, red, green, oolong, it is very practical to use, both for successive reinfusions and for washing. In porcelain, it can be used with different colors of tea because its texture will not retain odors/flavors.
