LONGJING THOUSAND ISLANDS LAKE PREQINGMING 2024
A superb, very high-end Longjing green tea, produced around Thousand Island Lake (Qiandao Lake) in Hangzhou, the birthplace of Longjing in the Zheijiang region. We can directly notice its high level of quality from its leaves made up only of small downy buds of uniform size and its distinctive pale color from high-end Longjing. The flavors are sweet, creamy, with a light roasting that brings warm notes of nuts, almond, hazelnuts and chestnut. This is a delicious tea from the first to the last infusion.
It is a “Pre-Qingming” tea which means that it was harvested before the Qingming festival at the end of March. The tea plants harvested are located between 300 and 800m altitude.
Infusion advice: Infuse in a container of approximately 300ml, or less, with lightly mineralized water. If bottled water, choose water with around 50 mg of minerals in dry residue. The water temperature should be between 75 and 80 degrees maximum. For 5g of leaves per 300ml of water, an infusion of 1 minute 15 minutes will be sufficient for the first infusion, reduce the time a little for subsequent infusions.
