NEW VITHANAKANDE BOP1

Black tea from the Sri Lankan manufacturer New Vithanakande. It is a tea with very typical flavors of cooked apple, spices, sweet cinnamon type, with a lot of character. It is a BOP1 grade which means Broken Orange Pekoe 1, thus it is the 2nd sorting of the best leaves.

Located at the foot of the central region of the Kandy mountains, the New Vithanakande factory processes teas from small harvests of around 2,000 families in the region who each have an annual contract with the factory. During harvest periods, the factory goes from family to family with trucks, and collects the harvest of fresh leaves, from 10 to 50 kg per family, and transports them to the factory.

Brewing tip: 90 degrees, 2 to 3 minutes steeping
