KYUSU TOKONAME 330ML

It's perfect for preparing all your sencha or kabusecha teas. You can, of course, prepare other teas besides Japanese green teas, but it's worth noting that this earthenware teapot can retain certain tea odors, particularly those from flavored teas and spices, and it will need to be thoroughly cleaned if you plan to use it for multiple types of tea.
What is a Kyusu?
A kyusu is a traditional Japanese teapot used for brewing tea. This type of teapot is distinguished by its shape and specific features designed to optimally prepare Japanese tea. Here are some elements that generally define a kyusu
Shape and Spout: Kyusu teapots typically have a rounded shape with a low, wide spout. This makes pouring tea easier and minimizes splashing.
Side handle: Unlike some Chinese teapots, kyusu often have a side handle. This makes holding and pouring the teapot easier.
Built-in filter: Most kyusu have a built-in filter inside, often located under the spout. This traps the tea leaves during brewing, preventing them from ending up in the cup.
Materials: Kyusu can be made from various materials, such as ceramic, stoneware, or even cast iron. Each material offers different characteristics that can influence the taste of the tea.
Size: Kyusu are generally small to medium in size, suitable for preparing small quantities of tea, which is common in the Japanese tea ceremony.
Kyusu are often used to prepare various types of Japanese tea, including sencha (a popular Japanese green tea), gyokuro, and other varieties. They are appreciated for their aesthetics, functionality and their role in preserving the aromas of tea.
