1985 TAIWAN PINGLIN BAOZHONG
A tea of great rarity.
Produced by the father of the current generation about 40 years ago, this Oolong tea was originally a traditional Baozhong, minimally oxidized and very floral. To experiment, the producer decided to keep around fifty kilograms and let them age in ceramic jars. Today, the leaves are visually black, and this tea has aged to express aromas of undergrowth and mushrooms, with a surprising hint of beetroot. In the cup, the flavors are very pleasant, balanced, and smooth, revealing many similarities with very old pu'er teas.
