Description: Nowadays, all Japanese teas are made with the help of very complicated machines. However, tea is still made by hand in very small quantities, it is called Temomi. To produce Temomi, hand-rollers work in a team and relay during approximately 5 hours to hand knead the fresh tea leaves.
Temomi is usually not meant to be sold, it is made to participate in a yearly Temomi competition in Shizuoka. The winner Temomi is nevertheless proposed to be sold, it can reach price heights of more than 10,000 euros per kg.
We are very lucky to be able to be able to purchase the Temomi produced by contestants during their training sessions. while it was not made during the competition, it is still in amazing tea at a very affordable price.
